Extraction is a common dental procedure in which your dentist will administer a local anesthetic solution to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure and then carefully remove all parts of the tooth or teeth scheduled for extraction.
Many times when there is no enough space for wisdom teeth to erupt in the oral cavity, they tend to come in at an angle or they don’t fully emerge, which create problems for the rest of the mouth like pain, traumatic ulcers, reduced mouth opening, etc.
Wisdom teeth routinely damage the teeth right next door, called second molars. And hence we recommend removing wisdom teeth before they become a problem and to avoid a more complicated surgery.
Under local anesthesia, a specialist performs the procedure as atraumatically as possible. Healing usually takes place in around 7 days.
